Billions Network
BILL
Billions Network is a **human and AI verification network** that lets people and AI agents prove they’re real and unique online without giving up their personal data. It uses **zero-knowledge cryptography** and mobile-first verification so users can confirm their identity in seconds while staying anonymous and in control of their information. The BILL token powers the ecosystem, covering network fees, incentives, and other in-protocol utilities.

Alkutarina

This project was created to tackle the rise of bots, fake accounts, and synthetic identities that are flooding the internet, especially as AI-generated content explodes. It was built by founders behind projects like **Disco.xyz, Hermez, and Polygon**, combining deep identity and zero-knowledge experience into one network. The name plays on the idea of bringing **billions of humans and AI agents** into a shared, trusted verification layer for the digital world. Its branding leans into the theme of scaling trust globally rather than focusing on a single app or platform.

Esimerkkejä tosielämästä

People can use the network to verify themselves with a smartphone and government ID, then reuse that privacy-preserving credential across any app or platform that plugs into the system. Apps can request proof that a user is unique, over a certain age, or verified, without ever seeing the underlying personal data. AI agents can be tied to a verifiable human or organization through the project’s **Know Your Agent (KYA)** framework, so users know who is ultimately responsible for an AI they interact with. On top of that, users earn “Power” points for actions like verifying their identity, connecting wallets, logging in daily, or doing social tasks, which can unlock rewards and exclusive digital experiences.

Hauskoja faktoja

The tech stack is built on **Privado ID (formerly Polygon ID)** and the open-source ZK framework **Circom**, which is already powering thousands of zero-knowledge and identity projects. According to the team, its technology underpins over **9,000** ZK and identity initiatives, including integrations with brands like TikTok, HSBC, and even the Indian government’s projects. Verification is mobile-first and can rely on NFC document checks and liveness detection instead of specialized hardware, making it more accessible than iris-scanning hardware-based systems. Users don’t share their raw data with the network; they share cryptographic proofs, which is a big shift from traditional KYC models.

Yhteisön kohokohdat

The community is centered around privacy-conscious users, devs, and AI builders who care about solving identity and “proof of personhood” without sacrificing anonymity. Builders can integrate the network’s SDKs to add human or AI verification into their apps, allowing them to tap into an existing base of verified identities. Users are incentivized with **Power points** and potential future rewards for participating, referring friends, and engaging with integrated apps, which helps drive grassroots growth. Social conversation often focuses on use cases like Sybil-resistant airdrops, bot-free communities, and safer AI experiences instead of pure price talk.

Mikä tekee BILL erityisen?

Unlike typical payment-focused tokens, this project is all about **trusted, privacy-preserving identity** for both humans and AI agents. Zero-knowledge proofs allow people to prove they’re real and unique without exposing who they are, what’s on their ID, or any sensitive documents. Everything is mobile-first—no specialized hardware or iris scanners—so anyone with a smartphone can onboard. The combination of **human verification, AI agent identities (KYA), and reusable credentials** across apps gives it a different angle from most DeFi or general-purpose smart contract platforms.

Tulevaisuuden visio

The long-term goal is to become a **universal verification layer** for the internet, where both people and AI agents can interact with built-in trust and minimal data sharing. By making identity portable and privacy-preserving, the project aims to power things like Sybil-resistant airdrops, bot-free social networks, secure AI assistants, and compliant access to financial or regulated apps. The team is focused on scaling integrations via SDKs and infrastructure so third-party apps, enterprises, and AI platforms can plug into the network. As adoption grows, BILL is positioned to sit at the center of fees, incentives, and governance around how this human-and-AI identity layer evolves over time.

ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) regulations for crypto assets aim to address their environmental impact (e.g., energy-intensive mining), promote transparency, and ensure ethical governance practices to align the crypto industry with broader sustainability and societal goals. These regulations encourage compliance with standards that mitigate risks and foster trust in digital assets.

Consensus Mechanism The crypto-asset's Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, introduced with The Merge in 2022, replaces mining with validator staking. Validators must stake at least 32 ETH every block a validator is randomly chosen to propose the next block. Once proposed the other validators verify the blocks integrity. The network operates on a slot and epoch system, where a new block is proposed every 12 seconds, and finalization occurs after two epochs (~12.8 minutes) using Casper-FFG. The Beacon Chain coordinates validators, while the fork-choice rule (LMD-GHOST) ensures the chain follows the heaviest accumulated validator votes. Validators earn rewards for proposing and verifying blocks, but face slashing for malicious behavior or inactivity. PoS aims to improve energy efficiency, security, and scalability, with future upgrades like Proto-Danksharding enhancing transaction efficiency.
Incentive Mechanisms and Applicable Fees The crypto-asset's PoS system secures transactions through validator incentives and economic penalties. Validators stake at least 32 ETH and earn rewards for proposing blocks, attesting to valid ones, and participating in sync committees. Rewards are paid in newly issued ETH and transaction fees. Under EIP-1559, transaction fees consist of a base fee, which is burned to reduce supply, and an optional priority fee (tip) paid to validators. Validators face slashing if they act maliciously and incur penalties for inactivity. This system aims to increase security by aligning incentives while making the crypto-asset's fee structure more predictable and deflationary during high network activity.

Energy consumption resources and methodologies The energy consumption of this asset is aggregated across multiple components: To determine the energy consumption of a token, the energy consumption of the network(s) ethereum is calculated first. For the energy consumption of the token, a fraction of the energy consumption of the network is attributed to the token, which is determined based on the activity of the crypto-asset within the network. When calculating the energy consumption, the Functionally Fungible Group Digital Token Identifier (FFG DTI) is used - if available - to determine all implementations of the asset in scope. The mappings are updated regularly, based on data of the Digital Token Identifier Foundation. The information regarding the hardware used and the number of participants in the network is based on assumptions that are verified with best effort using empirical data. In general, participants are assumed to be largely economically rational. As a precautionary principle, we make assumptions on the conservative side when in doubt, i.e. making higher estimates for the adverse impacts.
