BSc (Econ) Pasi Matilainen has started as interim CEO of Coinmotion Oy on 1.4. He has been the company’s Chief Operating Officer since the beginning of this year.
Prior to this, Matilainen worked for almost four years as the company’s Chief Technology Officer. Matilainen has over two decades of experience in various technology, marketing, project, and business management roles. In his role as interim CEO, Matilainen will focus primarily on the transformation of the company’s strategy and business.
“I accept the role of Interim CEO with humility and gratitude for the trust placed in me. Although the last 12 months have been challenging, the company’s strategy is developing in a positive direction and responds well to the global macro environment, which is currently undergoing significant changes, especially in the company’s main markets in Finland and Northern Europe. We bring access to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency services to consumers and businesses alike. There is now a growing demand for this,” Matilainen commented.
Coinmotion’s previous CEO Heidi Hurskainen is moving on to new challenges outside the company. Hurskainen herself will announce her future plans at a later stage.
“I would like to thank Heidi Hurskainen for her long career with the company. Heidi has done a great job developing the company and has been involved in several turning points. I wish her the very best of success with her next opportunities.”
The company has launched a process to find a new CEO. Matilainen, the acting CEO, will return to the company as Chief Operating Officer once the recruitment process is completed.
